Caitlin Clark’s beautiful message after going No. 1 to Fever in WNBA Draft

a historic moment for women’s basketball, the Indiana Fever embraced a new beacon of hope as Iowa women’s basketball prodigy Caitlin Clark was picked first overall in the 2024 WNBA

Clark’s humility was on full display in a beautifully candid address, which captured the hearts of many and sparked a sense of anticipation for the Fever’s future.

During an emotionally charged draft speech, Clark paid homage to Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder.

I believe that the most important thing is what we discussed earlier. This is the time we had dreamed of. However, she also had faith in my ability to succeed and gave me intense coaching to reach this point,"

Clark stated in a post-draft video that Tyler Tachman of the Des Moines Register uploaded on X, formerly Twitter.

There were many highs and lows, but one thing I particularly like about Coach Bluder is that she never stopped coaching me, regardless of the accolades

success, or victories we or I have ever experienced. She never gave up on holding me responsible.

After a phenomenal four-season tenure at Iowa, where she left as the all-time leading scorer across NCAA basketball, Clark is set to join forces with last year’s top pick, Aliyah Boston,

This might lead to an exciting Fever comeback. She carries with her a horde of admirers and the expectations of a basketball community that has followed her incredible journey as the first pick in the draft.

Lisa Bluder: "I think the biggest thing is like we talked about this moment," says Caitlin Clark. This is the time we had dreamed of.

There were many highs and lows, but one thing I particularly like about Coach Bluder is that she never stopped coaching me, regardless of the accolades, success, or victories we or I have ever experienced. She never gave up on holding me responsible.
