Jelly Roll Recipe

A jelly roll or "Swiss roll" is made from sponge cake, which is far lighter in texture and fat than regular cake.   

The jelly roll has been a popular dessert for about 200 years, so clearly that isn't an indication of how delicious it is.   

The combination of a delicate layer of airy sponge cake,   

a dollop of jam, and a spiral of rolling pins creates a visually stunning and mouthwatering dessert that is sure to impress any guest.  

Gradually add the sugar to the eggs while beating constantly. Beat for another 3 to 8 minutes, or until the batter is very thick and slightly lemon-colored  

The volume of the batter ought to have quadrupled.
