Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points to help the Clippers beat the Timberwolves 89-88 in a defensive duel.

On Sunday, in a defensively intense contest between two of the Western Conference's top four teams,

the Los Angeles Clippers prevailed over the Minnesota Timberwolves 89-88, with Kawhi Leonard contributing 32 points.

In addition to Paul George's 15 points, Norman Powell tied his season high with 24 points.

However, George shot just 5 of 16 from the field and 3 of 11 from beyond the arc.

After Russell Westbrook broke his left hand in Friday night's home win over the Wizards,

the Clippers proceeded with the game without him. After sitting out two games due to illness,

Ivica Zubac made a triumphant return.

The Timberwolves' loss to the Thunder in Phoenix later Sunday left Minnesota, which Anthony Edwards led with 27 points,

half a game behind Oklahoma City in the Western Conference. Just three times this season have the Timberwolves suffered consecutive losses.
