Perfect acai bowl

This perfect acai bowl recipe is both delicious and less expensive than a $12 bowl from your favorite smoothie store. Not to mention that it's quite simple to create.

There's nothing quite like starting the day with a nutritious acai bowl after a workout, adventure, or early surf.

It contains enough energy to get you through the rest of the day without putting you into a food coma.

2 packets (200 grams) of frozen acai puree (unsweetened is excellent for controlling the sweetness level) One ripe banana (for natural sweetness and creamy texture) 1/2 cup mixed berries (such as blueberries and strawberries; fresh or frozen)

1/2 cup apple juice or coconut water (for blending and adding flavor; use less if you prefer a thicker consistency) Optional: 1 tbsp nut butter or a scoop of protein powder.

Sliced fresh fruits such as bananas, strawberries, kiwi, and blueberries. Granola (ideally low in sugar for a crunch without excessive added sugar)

Shredded coconut or flakes Chia seeds or flaxseeds (high in omega-3s and fiber) Drizzle honey or agave (if extra sweetness is required). Optional: Nuts (sliced almonds or cashews), cacao nibs, or bee pollen.

– Break the frozen acai puree into smaller chunks to make it easier to blend. – Place the acai chunks, banana, mixed berries, and your choice of liquid (apple juice or coconut water) into a high-powered blender. Add protein powder or nut butter if using.

– Blend until smooth. The consistency should be thick like soft-serve ice cream. If it's too thick, add a bit more liquid and blend again.

– Sprinkle with coconut flakes, chia seeds, or flaxseeds. – Finish with a drizzle of honey or agave if a touch more sweetness is desired.

– Enjoy your acai bowl right away to experience the best texture and flavor.
