The dismissal or continuation of the involuntary manslaughter charges against Alec Baldwin will be announced next week.  

After the tragic shooting on set of the "Rust" film,  

which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza,   

Baldwin's legal team argued in a virtual court on Friday that their client should not face criminal charges.  

on January 19th, involuntary manslaughter, careless gun use, or, alternatively,  

involuntary manslaughter without reasonable precaution. On Friday, he was under no obligation to appear at the hearing.
