Significant Development in the Criminal Case Against Ja Morant's Friend

Regarding the incident that happened last summer involving Ja Morant, Davonte Pack, and Joshua Holloway, there have been a few additional developments recently.

Although the majority of the incident's contents have been known for some time, there have been recent changes to the criminal and civil proceedings,

most notably the recent announcement that Davonte Pack, a friend of Morant, had his assault charges dropped.

"Davonte Pack, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant's close friend, had his misdemeanor assault charge dropped Tuesday morning, ending the criminal case tied to punching a teen at Morant's house in July 2022,"

Lucas Finton of The Memphis Commercial Appeal in an article published on Tuesday. Less than a year after an argument between Pack,

Morant, and a young basketball player named Joshua Holloway during a pickup basketball game, an arrest warrant for Pack was obtained on July 10 of this year."

There are still cases pending on both sides, but Pack and Morant are no longer facing assault charges because they were never first brought against in court.

The other major recent twist in this whole affair is that Morant and his attorneys were recently allowed to assert self defense in the case against the star of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The guard Shaquille Harrison was signed by the Memphis Grizzlies, the organization announced today. The deal's terms were not revealed in accordance with team policy.

Harrison (6-4, 195) has played in 180 regular season games (23 starts) over six NBA seasons with the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets,

Portland Trail Blazers. In 15.4 minutes, he has averaged 5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. Harrison signed a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies during the 2021–22 season.
