Tom Cruise will star in the next film by Alejandro G. Inarritu, director of The Revenant

Tom Cruise has signed on for a new film following his excellent performance in the latest installment of Top Gun. He will appear in the next film directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu, The Revenant.

This will be Inarritu's first English-language film since Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar-winning film over ten years ago.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment are now in talks about bringing the film into their fold.

For the time being, plot specifics for the feature remain unknown. The film was written by Inarritu, Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone.

Last month, Tom Cruise signed a new contract with Warner Bros. No one knows the full scope of this agreement, but Tom is likely to collaborate with the studio on several projects.

Tom Cruise has recently been seen working on franchises, and there are whispers that the Hollywood star wants to delve farther.

Many of his recent films have come from long-running franchises such as Mission Impossible and Top Gun. They've all been with Paramount.
